Flip has been involved in weight loss camping since 1976, and has literally grown up in camping. Flip was an executive director of the former Weight Watchers Camps. He spends his entire fall, winter, and spring developing the Camp Pennbrook program to ensure that your daughter experiences a happy, slimming, and meaningful summer at camp. He is a long standing member of the American Camping Association. Flip received his B.B.A. from Hofstra University in Management/Marketing & Accounting.
Jenn will be returning to camp for her 3 rd summer this year. She has been a camp counselor, cooking instructor, nutrition intern, and this summer will be lead nutritionist. During the summer she will facilitate RAP sessions, oversee foodservice, weekly weigh-ins, and provide one-to- one counseling sessions for the girls. Jenn received her BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is a recent Masters of Public Health graduate from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She believes in avoiding “diets” and focusing on lifestyle changes to improve overall nutrition and wellness long-term.
Nikki Ruane, Associate Director
Nikki will be returning to Camp Pennbrook for her sixth summer this year. Nikki has been a counselor, group leader and this summer associate director. . She graduated from Brooklyn College last fall with a degree in Elementary Education and Children and Youth Studies. During the school year, Nikki teaches first and second grade in East New York, Brooklyn. She has also lost 100lbs herself and understand how much work goes into maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Nikki has loved working with the girls of Camp Pennbrook, and she eagerly looks forward to helping your daughter have the greatest summer of her life.
Katie Hoover, Teens (Age 12-13)
This will be Katie’s fifth summer at Camp Pennbrook. She started as a camper in 2010 and returned as a Teen’s Counselor in 2015. She is currently a junior at Saint Joseph’s University, majoring in Communications with a minor in Marketing. She has a true passion and commitment for working with your daughters, helping them meet their goals and make healthy lifestyle changes while having fun!
Lauren Rappeport, Support Session Leader
Camp Pennbrook is very excited to welcome back Lauren Rappeport. She was a camper as well as a counselor and now she will be running our support sessions. She has her Bachelors in Psychology from SUNY Albany and has double Masters of Education in Counseling as well as a Masters of Art in Counseling from Columbia University Teachers College. Currently she works full time as a school guidance counselor in Brooklyn, NY.
