Flip Shulman, Executive Director

Flip has been involved in weight loss camping since 1976, and has literally grown up in camping. Flip was an executive director of the former Weight Watchers Camps. He spends his entire fall, winter, and spring developing the Camp Pennbrook program to ensure that your daughter experiences a happy, slimming, and meaningful summer at camp. He is a long standing member of the American Camping Association. Flip received his B.B.A. from Hofstra University in Management/Marketing & Accounting.

 

Nikki Ruane, Associate Director

Nikki will be returning to Camp Pennbrook for her sixth summer this year. Nikki has been a counselor, group leader and this summer associate director. She graduated from Brooklyn College last fall with a degree in Elementary Education and Children and Youth Studies. During the school year, Nikki teaches first and second grade in East New York, Brooklyn. She has also lost 100lbs herself and understand how much work goes into maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Nikki has loved working with the girls of Camp Pennbrook, and she eagerly looks forward to helping your daughter have the greatest summer of her life.

 

Lauren Rappeport, Support Session Leader

Camp Pennbrook is very excited to welcome back Lauren Rappeport. She was a camper as well as a counselor and now she will be running our support sessions. She has her Bachelors in Psychology from SUNY Albany and has double Masters of Education in Counseling as well as a Masters of Art in Counseling from Columbia University Teachers College. Currently she works full time as a school guidance counselor in Brooklyn, NY.

Daphny Milord, Flappers and Teens Group Leader (ages 8-13)

Daphny will be returning to camp for her thirteenth summer. This will be her sixth summer working for us. She has been working with the Flappers since 2014. Daphny is currently a senior at the University of Pittsburgh studying Africana Studies concentrating in race relations as it pertains to public health with a minor in Chemistry. She will be applying to medical school this fall. Daphny looks forward to seeing all the great progress your daughters will make in the time they’re here as well as at home!
