Weekly “Rap” Session
Campers will meet weekly with trained nutrition staff members and discuss topics pertaining to a specific age group. Topics will include: eating out, balancing school and exercise, balancing calories, menu planning, as well as emotional eating. Individual camper concerns will be highlighted.
All campers receive a one-on-one nutritional counseling session along with a camp menu and recipe book.
Cooking Classes
These classes will allow your daughter to choose her own healthy snacks, meals, and desserts. A sense of independence will be stressed, and she will leave camp with new meal preparation procedures that are easy enough for her to prepare for herself and her family. The weekly cooking classes combine knowledge of healthy eating with the taste preferences of the particular camper. Campers also have an opportunity to visit the local supermarket and learn how to read food labels and shop for healthier foods and snacks.
Follow-Up Program:
Your daughter will receive a Camp Recipe Booklet, which will include cooking class recipes, as well as camp menu selections that will allow her to continue with her success after camp. In addition, parents and campers are encouraged to call our toll free number and speak with our directors and nutrition staff at any time after camp.
Once camp ends, our support continues throughout the winter with monthly follow-up phone calls and numerous reunions and organized events. Parents can even talk to one of the camp counselors and nutritionists if they have questions about the food program after camp is over.
Our Fall/Winter Events Include:
- JINGLE BALL CONCERT
- CAMP REUNION
- OPEN HOUSE AT CAMP
