Camp Pennbrook is a weight loss and fitness camp for girls ages 8-21. where the girls lose weight, have fun, and learn healthy eating habits a for a healthier lifestyle. Our program provides exercise, emotional support, and rap sessions where the girls learn to eat correctly while improving their self-esteem.
Our weekly rap sessions with the camp’s dietitian afford your daughter an opportunity to learn a realistic eating program that she will understand and be motivated to continue after campus over. The girls learn about menu planning, and how to eat 3 nutritious portion-controlled meals and two snacks daily, so they apply them to real-life situations like dining out, healthy snacking at home and at school, along with tips for healthy holiday eating.
In addition to traditional activities provide amazing summer camp off campus optional excursions. These trips are trips serve as well-earned rewards for the girl’s hard work and dedication. Our activities include fun and engaging programs that don’t follow your standard weight loss camp programs including most land, water, and cultural activities along with daily cardio and aerobic classes including Zumba, a favorite of the girls
Each of these weekly topics is discussed and catered to the camper’s specific needs along with their age and grade. More importantly, camper concerns are highlighted, and each girl receives a one on one nutritional counseling session prior to departure and is giving a going Nome packet complete with the camp’s menus, recipes, and exercise tips. What separates us from other weight loss camps is the personal follow-up each girl receives. Every camper receives a monthly follow-up camp for 6 months after camp from one our staff to ensure the girls stay motivated as well as having any questions answered about any issues they are experiencing.
Camp Penn brook is more than your average summer weight loss camp or “fat camp”. We offer a fun, supportive program, –everyone participates–no one sits on the sidelines. Our staff is supportive, and girls do not feel like they are at a boot camp. The emphasis is always on having fun and making friends while losing weight and improving their self-esteem.

Before walking into Camp Pennbrook, I was extremely nervous. Little did I know, my life was about to change and I was starting a whole new journey. I have to admit, I did not immediately adapt to life at camp, but I found the counselors and environment very warm and welcoming and eventually, I was able to call it home. The weekly rap sessions really opened up my eyes to healthy eating and gave me a higher understanding of nutrition. Plus the food at camp is delicious! (I have yet to find a meal that I did not like!!) Camp Pennbrook makes exercise fun with an overall energy that really makes it easier. I have made some of the best friends in the world and I still keep in touch with them year-round. My two summers at camp taught me more about myself than I ever thought I knew. As of last month, I’ve managed to lose about 60 pounds! But in the long run, I have gained way more than I’ve lost. I gained the confidence I’ve been longing for and I gained the skills and knowledge to continue to reach my goals. The weight loss has transformed me physically, mentally, and emotionally. Camp Pennbrook has truly changed my life and I couldn’t be more grateful for all the opportunities that this journey has given me.*
